Yes…not our usual chilly, snow covered, magical NYC Christmas. But who can complain in this weather? Hope everyone had an amazing holiday weekend…relaxing, hangin with family, friends, loved ones…drifting into the usual holiday food coma. As for Asa Ransom, now that Christmas is over, we’re back on the treadmill, drinkin our green tea, taking our vitamins…and getting ready for 2010!…the Year of the ASA!!! We have about a week off of shows before we burn the Standard Hotel down on New Years Eve… !!!

Forecast for the Asa New Years Eve…..Clear night skies, 55, 100% chance of dancing, great music, over drinking, blowing minds, and masks! New Years Eve will be spent at the luxuriously hip Standard Hotel in Hollywood where we will be sharing the stage (which will be in the pool) with LA’s Fools Gold! deets: MFG presents the 2010 NYE Masquerade Party at the Hollywood Standard with FOOLS GOLD, ASA RANSOM, Prince Language, Alphabeast, Valida, and Smiles Davis. After we recover, we have one more week in LA until we bid fareware to the warm, sunny skies and say hello to the west coast tour with HOCKEY! …starting in Seattle on January 13th. (check out the video flyer in the “videos” section of our website or on our myspace page) And after the tour with Hockey, its back across the US….back home to NYC! “New York we love you, but….”

What a summer its been! After our spring tour, we’ve been back in NYC busy as ever! Spending the first part of the summer playing tons of shows around town and working preproduction for our new recording project…exploring new sounds and possibilities of our music. We spent the last week of June recording our ideas at a Bloody Good Recording in Long Island City. Then we loaded up the van and trailer, kidnapped our producer and engineer and spent the better part of 2 weeks recording at 2 very remote cottages on the coast of the Mobile Bay in Mobile, AL. Experimenting and exploring our music like mad scientists! What an experience!

August and September was a blur! Outside of playing and performing, and booking our tour, we filmed an episode of Fearless Music TV (which we were voted back to appear on another episode!), we filmed an online music program promo video for Pepsi, and we performed and DJ-ed the Dolce and Gabbanna “Fashion Night Out” party! Also, we’ve been getting regular radio play on BBC music 6 and BBC Freakzone. We recently finished mixing and mastering our new recording….which we are so excited for everyone to hear! So, without further adieu….may I present to you….The Gold EP! …which we are now offering as a FREE download off of this website!

Now we leave you, NYC! We are now embarking on a 4 month tour around the US! We’ll be shakin up towns, sweating on stages, jumping off kick drums all through the mid-west in October, rounding off the month with a huge Halloween show in LA! Then we’ll be focusing our time on the west coast and the northwest for the months of November and December…investing and living in LA for December . (Besides playing shows in LA, we’ll be shooting a music video, too…so watch out for that!) We’ll be headed back through the south to rattle some new cages in January…with a homecoming in NYC planned for early February!

So now, we’re healthy and ready to take on the World! (or at least part of it!) We’re excited to see some familiar faces from last tour AND meet some new faces! Check out our tour dates frequently because we’re constantly adding new shows to the lineup! AND don’t forget to download for FREE our new recording, The Gold EP. We’ll be in your city soon….we hope you’re ready for us!

TOMORROW MORNING WE ARE HEADED TO A HORSE RANCH IN NAPA VALLEY TO DEVOTE THREE DAYS TO WRITING NEW MUSIC AND SKETCHING NEW POSSIBILITIES OF SOUND! WE ARE REALLY THRILLED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY AND WANT TO THANK ANISE LEBRAUM FOR HER WILLINGNESS TO HAVE US AT THE RANCH.

HAD OUR FIRST PERFORMANCE AROUND A PIANO! DANIEL PLAYED A STRIPPED SET AND THE REST OF US EITHER PLAYED PIANO OR STOOD/SAT ON THE PIANO AND SANG. OUR SET WAS RELIC AND THE LUCK OF STONEY BOWES.  AGAIN, VIDEO WILL SURELY APPEAR HERE OR THERE IN THE COMING DAYS.
